He felt gravity increase and Kid became aware of his own substance once again, weight was slowly added to his form and his legs were pulled downward underneath him. He blinked and the white light disappeared as well leaving his eyes to painfully adjust as he looked down and saw a park landscape rush up toward him with impossible speed. His feet touched the ground and his hand automatically wrapped itself around something he couldn't see. The dress clothes he wore melted slowly away and were replaced by an old Athletics little league t-shirt, blue denim jeans, adidas indoor soccer shoes and a dark green bandana with odd looking symbols swam and tied itself around his neck. To Kid, it looked like the world was pulling itself back together. Chills ripped across his spine. Suddenly he felt the wind against his face and smiled at the sensation of being able to feel again.
He suddenly looked up. "Where was I? What was that Red?" He whispered out-loud. He struggled to remember when he noticed the river to the right of him. He looked around and saw leaves blowing across the green grass of Drake Park. "I know where I am! I'm home! It's autumn! It was my imagination!" He laughed nervously. His head snapped back to his hand just as suddenly. He was holding hands with someone and as soon as he looked down his heart crashed. The hand gripped his own tighter, it wasn't the female's hand that caught his attention, it was the details of the hand. As it gripped tighter around his, he smiled as he noticed the red-pink birthmark on the index finger, and the small delicate tattoo that was etched in simple black ink between the index finger and her thumb. It read: 'Beloved'
"You and your imagination." A soft voice touched his ears and she laughed as her hand gripped tighter around his in affection. He hadn't even looked up at her face and as soon as he did, her emerald eyes dove into his. He smiled and noticed as well that they were both going for a walk, he just hadn't remembered how he had gotten there. Especially with her: Princess & Beloved of his Autumn. His heart crashed into oblivion and back, striving and searching for the reason. His mind went into over-drive and raced to find a logical conclusion this piece of his histories and then it all came thundering back to him. His hand instantly and instinctively dropped from hers and his legs froze in place. She stopped just as quickly and turned, giving Kid a questioning look. He emerald eyes blazed in the sunlight and the sun whipped her long blonde hair around in a dance that only added to his image of her beauty.
"This is... this.. this is wrong." Kid said in a mournful voice. He slowly stepped back. "I don't remember how I got here. I don't remember your name." His heart turned to ice.
"It's me, silly." Her voice softened and caressed his heart.
"Who am I, then?"
"Babe, are you ok?" She whispered. "Sco-" her voice cut short and her smiled turned into a slight frown and her emerald eyes strained while they held back tears. The green turned into a fire of love, misery, passion, and fear. The sun bloomed across her form brilliantly.
"Beloved, you never cry..." He felt his own heart start to break. He shook his head and grabbed her hand. How did he know her? He moved it to his mouth and kissed it gently on the back of her hand. From where and when? He looked into her eyes and let his heart burn, for it might be the last time he would ever see her again. Why did it matter so much?
"I have to." Kid said quietly. "You know I do."
"Don't." She whispered back. "Wait, what is wrong with your eyes?"
"I don't know! Something is wrong, its coming back!"
"What is? Scott, I love you!" She urged in what sounded like a soft scream.
He let go of her hand in finality, and pulled himself toward her face. "I love you t-- . Who is Scott?" His mind raced trying to merge the two, he was Kid Danger. Not Scott. Wasn't he?
It was as if that was the sun's cue to end. Darkness ripped a hole in the sunny autumn weather and sucked the daytime skies away, it invaded with seething malice. Underneath Kid, the ground melted away once again. He fought it and reached out to her.
"Aime-", His voice stopped and he started to cough as if something cut his vocal cords in half. He grabbed on to her hand and saw the silver ring with a sapphire stone set on its top. "That Ring! Where did you get it?!" He said and he began to cough violently again. Wind picked up and the ground started to give faster and faster. She screamed as the shadows of trees and benches converged upon the young man like sheets of lightening. His vision blurred with tears and he bent over in another mad fit of coughing. He tried to breathe harder as he coughed and could not get enough air, each breath produced a harder exhale. He could hear his heart slow and his thoughts halt. He grabbed onto the only two thoughts he could produce: love and survival. Both were shattered by the thought of hearing his heart beat one last time.
His heart slowed and interrupted his thoughts with its delayed irregular beating, it slowed to a few every couple of seconds to one every other second. It was like someone without any formidable strength trying to charge a fortress and to break down the gates with bare hands. Faint and outer-worldly. And then they even stopped and Kid felt the silence of life build up in his core. As soon as his heart stopped the Red filled his vision again. It overrode his actions and his emotions. It pressed into him and whispered.
"Kiddd.. I can and will usssseee youuuu..." The voice was strong and yet serpentine and the voice echo in his still non-beating heart. He has no voice or breath to respond with and It sent chills through his nerves. Again the Red faded, his body grew heavy and he started to fall through the air again. "you will-" The voice was interrupted by the sound of a hurricane of screams and men roaring battle-cries. Kid fell faster and his heart ignited with strength as his lungs finally pulled in air. Kid's eyes could see black and redness and while the red slowly fading he felt gravity pull even hard.
"No! Not again!" He screamed at the Red. "Take me home! Fuc-" He was interrupted by his back slamming into a dirt covered ground, his eyes opened just enough to see the tops of several cacti and a bright sun. His eyes closed back again and he fell asleep surrounded by a desert waste.
(I'll continue updating it from my notebooks when I have some more time... To be Cont.)
